Year End 2002 NewsletterBoard of Directors:
I hope everyone is enjoying the rest of their summer vacation. I know for me at least, summer went by in an eye blink. What a great end to a swim season! We finished strong in our last regular dual meet of the season. Kingfish as you remember, narrowly escaped with a victory, winning the meet, 641-639. The real revenge for us however, came when two weeks later, we beat everyone in our division at the county championships. For those of you unaware, the Trotters Tide finished 8th overall in the entire county! That’s right, 8th place out of 53 teams. We did an incredible job with the small team of boys and girls we sent to the championships. We set team county records, won individual high point awards, and as I mentioned earlier, outdistanced everyone in our division by a mile. I couldn’t be more proud of our kids. Great Job everyone! A special thanks of course goes out to our Coaches who paved the way. Way to go Cathy, Hunter, and Ashley. Lastly, thanks to those of you who helped out by volunteering at the County finals. Without your help, I don’t know what I would have done. With the closing of this season, I also will be closing a chapter in this swim season book. I have had the pleasure of leading a couple of “laps” and now will turn it over to a new group who I know will do a great job. I want my wife for enduring with me over the past two years. She probably had a tougher job than me. Thank you to the Board of Directors for the contributions over the past 2 years....I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you to the coaches and parents who made my tenure a memorable one and lastly, thanks to our various sponsors who contributed money to make the swim season a great success. In parting, the next administration, headed by the Greenfields (Tyler and Kim) would like to get a feel for the level of interest in fielding a team for next year. I know a number of you will be moving on. If you know now whether you may be coming back, please let me know by email when you get a chance.
